Summary, in plain English
MangaBrows is a web browser. It doesn't track what you read, doesn't store your browsing on our servers, and doesn't sell your data. We collect the minimum necessary to run the app and the website, and nothing more.
- No browsing analytics. We don't know which sites you visit, which pages you scroll, or how long you stay.
- No accounts. The app doesn't ask you to sign up. There's nothing to sign into.
- No third-party trackers on this website or in the app.
- Your data stays on your device — bookmarks, history, cache, reading position. Sync uses Apple's iCloud (opt-in) directly, not our servers.
Who we are
For the purposes of data protection law, the "data controller" for MangaBrows is the publisher of the MangaBrows app, reachable at [email protected]. When we say "we," "us," or "MangaBrows" we mean that entity.
What data we handle
The app (on your iPhone / iPad)
The following information exists only on your device. We cannot access it:
- Browsing history, tabs, open pages. Stored locally by the app for your use.
- Bookmarks, reading position, preferences. Stored locally. Optionally synced via Apple iCloud if you enable that in system settings.
- Cached web content. Standard browser cache, cleared when you clear it.
- Cookies and site storage set by the websites you visit (we use WebKit, the same engine as Safari).
The website (mangabrows.com)
Our website is a static site served over HTTPS. We don't use analytics, cookies, session storage, or fingerprinting. Our hosting provider may log standard server-access information (IP, user-agent, timestamp, requested URL) for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention — those logs are aggregated and not used for tracking.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and anything else you choose to send. We keep those emails only as long as needed to resolve your request plus a reasonable period for follow-up.
Crash reports
If you opt in to Apple's standard "Share with App Developers" setting, we may receive anonymized crash diagnostics from Apple (stack traces, OS version, device model). These contain no personal information and no browsing data. This is opt-in at the system level and can be turned off at any time in iOS Settings.
How we use what little we have
Nothing we receive is used for advertising, profiling, or sold to anyone.
- Support emails are used to answer support emails.
- Crash reports are used to fix crashes.
- Server logs are used to keep the website online and block abuse.
Our legal bases (where GDPR applies) are: contract (to provide the service you installed), legitimate interest (to keep the service running and secure), and consent (for anything that is opt-in, such as iCloud sync and crash-report sharing).
Third parties
MangaBrows does not embed third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking SDKs. The app is distributed by Apple via the App Store, and iCloud sync (if you enable it) is operated by Apple directly — we do not see its contents. We rely on a standard static-site host and an email provider for @mangabrows.com addresses; neither has access to any user data.
When you visit a website through MangaBrows, that website sets its own cookies, runs its own scripts, and has its own privacy policy. MangaBrows does not mediate that relationship any more than Safari does.
Children
MangaBrows is a general-purpose browser. It does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). Because MangaBrows is a browser, content you reach through it is controlled by the sites you visit — not by us. Parents can restrict the app using iOS Screen Time and Content & Privacy Restrictions.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to our processing of personal data about you. Since almost nothing is held by us, most of these rights apply only to support emails you've sent us.
For CCPA/CPRA specifically: we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined, and we have no financial incentive programs tied to personal information.

How long we keep things
- Support emails: up to 24 months after resolution, then deleted.
- Server access logs: up to 30 days, then deleted or aggregated.
- Crash diagnostics: up to 12 months, anonymized.
- On-device data: for as long as you keep it; deleted when you clear it or uninstall the app.
Security
The app stores its data in iOS's protected app sandbox. Sync, if enabled, uses Apple's iCloud with end-to-end encryption where Apple supports it. The website is served only over HTTPS with HSTS. We'll never ask for your password — we don't have one to give you.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note the change in the app. Your continued use of MangaBrows after a change means you accept the revised policy.
